About this site

jefftangx.com is Jeff Tang's personal website. It publishes Jeff's projects, writing, health experiments, and selected personal health data. The site does not offer visitor accounts and does not ask visitors to connect their Google accounts.

Information you provide

If you request a Peptide Party invite or occasional peptide content, the site collects your email address. You may also choose to provide your city, background, interests, links, and other details. This information is used to send the material you requested and to make event invitations more relevant.

Submissions are stored in Airtable. If Airtable is temporarily unavailable, a submission may be recorded in private server logs so it is not lost. The browser also stores sign-up state locally so the site does not repeatedly ask for the same information.

You can unsubscribe using the link in an email or reply to an email from Jeff to request access, correction, or deletion.

Google Health data

The site uses read-only Google Health permissions to retrieve Jeff's own activity, fitness, sleep, and health-measurement data. It currently reads heart rate, steps, sleep duration, heart-rate variability, resting heart rate, and blood oxygen saturation for the live health ticker. Visitors' Google data is not accessed.

Selected readings are intentionally displayed publicly in the ticker. Current readings are processed on the server and may be cached briefly to keep the site responsive. They are not written to a visitor profile or used to build an advertising profile. The Google OAuth refresh token is kept in a private server environment and is never sent to visitors.

Google Health data is not sold, used for advertising, or shared except as the public readings described above and as necessary for the hosting provider to operate the site. Use and transfer of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Analytics and service providers

The site uses Vercel for hosting and site analytics, and Airtable for invite-list submissions. These providers process information on Jeff's behalf to operate the site. Their handling of information is also governed by their own privacy policies.

Retention and control

Invite-list information is retained while it remains useful for the purpose described above or until deletion is requested. Private server logs are retained according to the hosting provider's log-retention settings. Browser storage can be removed through your browser settings.

Jeff can disconnect Google Health at any time by revoking the site's access in his Google Account and deleting the stored refresh token.

Changes

This policy may change when the site's data practices change. The date at the top of this page identifies the latest revision.
